The important issue is to know why sieving is necessary, at what stage in
the production cycle that operation should be introduced and what size of
screen to use to accomplish that specific objective.
If it is suspected that a specific ingredient has an oversize fraction
because there is a residue on the screen being used ask the supplier for a
particle size distribution analysis. If there is access to a standard set o=
sieves test a sample of suspicious ingredients.
