My furusato (hometown) is Sakai (same neighborhood as Sen No Rikyu.)
Sakai was first know for its swords, and later its arquebus. Now, it
makes kitchen knives, scissors and bicycles.
Below, a photo of my grandfather with armor and arquebus that's been
in the family for 18 generations (I think the swords were lost in the
firebombing of Osaka):
