When people post to the list and include their website with their name I =
=3D
often go look at their site. I'm always interested in how people =3D
organize their website and what information they think is important. I =3D
always look at the images of individual works. Which brings me to the =3D
subject of images people submit to a jury. =3D20

On your website you can photograph with whatever background you want. If =
=3D
you feel shooting your work against a background of your garden says =3D
something worth saying, so be it. But, don't submit those images to a =3D
jury. Bed sheets (especially wrinkled bed sheets), your deck bench, =3D
window ledge, tree stump or other various backgrounds I've seen in =3D
images of pots is not acceptable for jury images. If you are not getting =
=3D
in shows and wonder why, your back ground could be part of the answer. =
=3D
Grey background paper is cheap. Graduated grey back ground paper is =3D
cheap. Buy it and shoot those images on it. If you can't afford lights =3D
to shoot inside, take it outside and shoot in morning light. Jurors =3D
need to see your work. All by itself. Without the distractions of messy =3D
or busy backgrounds. If you think the background doesn't matter you are =3D
wrong.=3D20
