lost glaze recipe: vic mad

In spite of numerous studio journals filled with all kinds of =3D
information and notes on what I'm doing, I've lost a recipe.
It is a low-fire glaze (earthenware) that I mixed up about a year and a =3D
half ago. The label on the almost empty bucket says "Vic Mad". I keep =3D
my recipes on the computer (in glaze program) and in hardcopy--you can't =
=3D
imagine how many recipes I have. But for the life of me I can not find =3D
a recipe called Vic Mad. That might be an abbreviation or not. Anyone =3D
have such a recipe?

Gay,

That is one of the recipes in Mark Burleson's "The Ceramic Glaze Handbook".

Vic-Mad-1000
Gerstley Borate 30
Neph Syenite 12
Potash Feldspar (Kona F-4) 5
EPK 11
OM4 Ball Clay 6
Flint 25
Zircopax 7
Lithium Carbonate 3
Borax 1

Total 100

Add
Yellow Stain 10
Red Iron Oxide 1

Vic-Mad-1000 (variation)
change RIO to Chrome Oxide

I presume if it fires yellow, or an olive Army Green, it is one or the othe=
r
of this recipe. So, how did it work out for you? I imagine if you are
looking for the lost recipe, you must like it. Always good information for
the data banks as to how another potter likes a glaze. Any pictures around=
?

Thanks John. Crazy that I don't have that saved with other recipes. =3D
Maybe I was waiting to save it after I had tested it--I have decided =3D
that less is more! =3D20
There is a photo of some of the pieces I used that glaze on at:
http://sistercreekpottery.blogspot.com/2010_06_01_archive.html
I used titanium yellow mason stain #6485 (did record that piece of =3D
info!) with 1% rio special. It is a nice 'old gold' or French's =3D
mustard!
Again thanks for helping me out! I'm needing that kind of help more and =
=3D
more these days!
