I discovered on facebook this morning, a photo of marijuana hanging
from the rafters of a fellow mud bud's home. Mud bud has a medical
marijuana card.

What people don't understand is that the medical marijuana card ONLY
protects against the local police. The feds do NOT recognize medical
marijuana cards.

Now... for a brief discussion of what COULD happen following posting a
photo of pot on facebook. This gives the feds more than enough
information to obtain a search warrant. When the feds are looking for
drugs, they can look in every place drugs could be hidden. Drawers,
containers, under the mattress, in the sugar bowl, in the suspended
ceiling..... The entire house gets tossed - and tossed is the
operative word. As in drawers are opened and contents tossed out.
Canisters are opened and contents tossed out.

Worse, because the person voluntarily waived the right to privacy by
posting a photo on facebook, there's not a single thing any defense
attorney can do to suppress the evidence.

Please, please, please think about what you post on facebook, your
blog, or any other part of the net. If you don't want it on the front
page of the New York Times do not put it on the net.

A friend of mine recently found out just how barbaric the DEA can be in =3D
their search for drugs. She was at work teaching less than a quarter =3D
mile away. The DEA broke down her back door and absolutely trashed the =3D
place looking for drugs. Problem was, as more frequently happens than =3D
you'd think, they had the wrong address. Her's is a Sears Catalogue =3D
house from the twenties. Nothing was standard then and just replacing =3D
that back door cost the DEA over $1000. They paid nothing for the mess =3D
they created.
