Christeena asked for opinions--and got some positives and some =3D
negatives. I do not think anyone was "bashing" nor was anyone =3D
insulting people who find arithmetic hard.

And Christeena--wearing the vest of her interest--made several good =3D
sales points.

BUT the underlying consideration is that if you cannot buckle down and =3D
do arithmetic then you will not, repeat, will not, be able to think =3D
through the ensuing and more complex "problems" involved in glaze =3D
development.

"Everything" comes with demands! If you want to play tennis you have =3D
to be willing to practice, to endure the physical stress, to adjust your =
=3D
time schedule so you CAN practice. Buying six great rackets, and =3D
wonderful tennis outfits, will not do it.

Cookbooks sell so well because they sell dreams. Ah, yummy, this looks =3D
great! But then comes the peeling, chopping, marinating, frying, =3D
stirring--you name it--and the cleanup. So the lovely sushi becomes a =3D
chore--and the Japanese restaurant all the more attractive.

There is nothing "wrong" with people who do not really want to invest a =3D
whole day into making strudel or Boeuf Wellington (Though something is =3D
very wrong with Boeuf Wellington!)...And there is nothing "wrong" with =3D
people who do not want to do basic calculations.

What I am stressing is that the arithmetic is just a tiny fraction of =3D
what is involved in making and creating glazes. (Yes. Some can throw a =3D
few things together and make a perfectly good glaze--but this comes =3D
after 50 years of practice!) Lots of people --see tennis rackets =3D
above--buy a scale, buy materials, buy this and that--without having any =
=3D
notion of time and patience needed.

And a tool such as Christeena's may/may not make the first baby-steps =3D
easier--but then what? It does not prepare you for the next and next =3D
much bigger steps...and learning to do basic calculations does.

(Ok. So those fabulous tennis shoes fit great, look great. Now what?)
