I need a matt glaze base that will show my delicate texture and will work
well with stains or oxides. All of my current matt glazes hide my texture.
Any help would be appreciated.

thanks,

Hi Judy,

We found when we were doing the cooling tests for our book that nearly
all our glazes showed texture much better than if they were allowed to
cool naturally.

Turns out that the slower cooling of most fuel burning kilns helps
this to happen as well.

Some potters - when they saw our slow cooled glazes could not believe
they were not reduction glazes - I assume because of the of the
pronounced way textures showed through the glazes.
