I have to say I dislike Canvas as a work surface; it retains clay dust. You=

nly have to put something down on it less than gently and a cloud of fine d=

st rises in the air....I've seen it, and my lungs are already in a sorry en=

ugh state, they don't need any more crap in them!
For me the best is something smooth and slightly absorbent.=3D20
I have the good fortune to have one bench which is Slate (ex Billiard Table=

, and my Wedging Bench is a Paving Slab. Other than that I cover my remaini=

g (multi-purpose) bench with my ware boards which are dense asbestos roof t=
i=3D
les when I'm glazing. They're slightly absorbent and wipe down easily.=3D20
