Hey Folks,

Last Sunday one of my buddies got me excited about cutting some standing d=
ead Tamarack on his property so I took off without my gloves and started wo=
rking. While trimming nubs off the limbs with a machete I thought about my =
gloves and two whacks later...

... ended up in the ER for a couple of hours. The 5 stitches are holding OK=
and I managed to wedge some clay I'm de-watering an hour ago so I guess no=
real damage happened.

Gary, hope you mend well. ditto what Clyde says.
if it makes you feel better a few months ago i took a friend to task for=

wanting to level off the tops of some posts by hanging off a ladder and
waving a skillsaw around with one hand.

Right after that , feeling good about my safety talk, i was walking over=

to
turn on a hose, looking up at some clouds or birds probably, when, (in an=

event that happened so fast i do not even know exactly what happened,=3D20
except i know that forward motion translated into driving force, and the
geometry of two legs , one branch, and no eyeballs was involved), i cause=

forcefully into the nicest, fleshiest part of my calf (no, not my baby
cow). It was large enough and went deep enough that i too, decided i bett=

anything of it. All i could thing of was how soft and mushy we humans ar=

It was also quite a circus to see me pull the stick out (reminiscent of a=

the pold westerns you ever saw, only really, not that bad, but kind of
yucky) and hop around from shop to house to get first aid stuff, clean
gauze, wallet, car keys , a decent shirt, etc.=3D20
i give myself credit for having good first aid kits near the door of the
shop and the house but not so many points on having other stuff scattered=

there are two huge old cottonwoods that shed sticks and branches all year=

always thought one might fall on my head but never jump up and stab me in=

comes over, i say 'watch out for that stick' everytime we pass a
twig.....it's kind of a joke now.. i hope you will soon be able to look b=
