Our newspaper ran another feature on the
new nutrition plate and it made me think a
real plate for children would be great.
Using this guide, you could decorate a plate
to help parents get their kids to eat a vegetable
other than potato.
There is an official website ...
but I could not find any links to real dinnerware.
It would be fun to decorate plates this way and
I think they would sell.

Hi Chris=3D3B This is a wonderful idea=3D2C especialy for my food backgrou=
=3D2C (baker=3D2Cpastry chef)=3D2C I realy believe in the whole=3D2C half =
te should be vegetables=3D2C (or more)=3D2C a great plate idea for kids=3D2=
C but =3D
also to remind parents of their own eating habits.
I was looking at your website and admiring your gorgeous work=3D2C the co=
urs are fantastic as is your design aesthetic. I used porcelain for quite=
a while but switched to cone 6 white stoneware for various reasons=3D2C es=
cially the pampering it needs to dry without cracks.
As you say in some of your advice=3D2C choose what you love the most=3D2C=
while I love your colours I love texture more and find myself hand buildin=
g almost everything. I don't have too many problems with the vertical buil=
ds=3D2C but the horizontal=3D2C plates=3D2C bowls etc.=3D2C still give me a=
lot of =3D
either warping or cracking in the glaze fire. =3D20
Seeing your work with paper clay gives me inspiration to try it=3D2C I j=
t want to clarify your directions for mixing. Is it pre-mixed clay that yo=
u are mixing in the dough mixer? (I have a 30 qt. hobart)=3D2C does it nee=
extra water to get it to mix?=3D2C I have a small peter pugger but I don't=
hink it would be good to mix the paper in it unless I cleaned it out every =
time=3D2C (not a favorite activity).=3D20
Thanks so much for sharing your ideas=3D2C Birgit Wright
