A few years ago, I saw some photos of the damage in New Orleans done
by Katrina. One photo showed a wall with lots of different types of
mold. I was fascinated by that photo and thought that perhaps I could
make a quilt using those colors and lines.

Mold isn't art, but what the imagination does with the mold certainly
can be art.

I've been inspired by mold, the peeling bark of a sycamore tree, the
color of the water in the Caribbean..... None of those things are art,
but what the imagination does with those things can be art.

What's the strangest thing that has inspired you?
