better than salt: peanut butter!

Smoothe? Or, Crunchy?

But regardless...

I think... the
installation should have had the Peanut Butter
slathered ( thickly ) on the Ceiling...instead.

It pains me that so many of these installation artists are
so...prosiac/pedantic.

So...I will be once again with-holding my patronage from yet another
'Installation'...Hmph!...a favor which I am confident, they will
effortlessly reciprocate.

...sigh...

The Boijmans van Beuningen Museum in Rotterdam is exhibiting an absolutely
brilliant conceptual art piece entitled "Peanut Butter Platform". The piec=
e
consists of a 50' long pool of peanut butter, reportedly 2000 jars worth,
spread into a recess in the museum floor. The piece is about... No, it is
so obvious that I needn't waste any time explaining it.

In any case, a hapless museum goer stepped into the pool, not realizing tha=
t
it was a) art, and b) particularly gooey art. Though he is the third perso=
n
to do so, the museum is foolishly pursuing him for damages, when it is
completely obvious that he was actually creating a piece of complimentary
performance art.

I would also like to note that this idea to cover a gallery floor with
peanut butter was "thunk up" 50 years before another artist thunk up the
idea of covering a gallery floor with sunflower seeds. I wonder if
Sotheby's will auction off the peanut butter?

What a coincidence. I have just booked a flight to Rotterdam to
perform my piece entitled "Giving away free Saltines" outside of the
The Boijmans van Beuningen Museum. I love it when there is
synchronicity in the universe.

This appears to imply that there is no beauty in post-modern art. Further
thinking on that statement would lead one to the conclusion that it is fals=

e
or that the one making the implication is not familiar enough with
post-modern art to be taken with any credibility.

I was surprised to read that it was first "presented" in 1962 - almost 50
years ago - so it must have been very avant garde then - at least I do not
remember so much "way out" stuff from back then. Hope they changed the
peanut butter!

Carolee Schneemann? STILL way out there, even after 50 years! Awesome
stuff! Not sure if she ever smeared herself with peanut butter, but sure
used lots of other gooey substances.

All the best.
