Do you know when Spring has arrived in Seattle?

The rain gets warmer.

Chantarelles are probably more popular, but they're fall mushrooms. I
read somewhere that something like 98% of the mushroom species that
grow anywhere in the US grow in WA State. Hell, I've got mushrooms
growing on the carpet in my van! (I'm not making that up)

...as one thing leads to another...

Now I am thinking of the depictions seen in The Great Canterbury Psalter.

As well as remembering some of the writings of John Marco Alegro...

I have a little Oregon spot on the map called Elk Wallow where I
gathered huge goats-beard fungus the size of softballs, porcini,
hedgehog mushrooms, a few chanterelles. There are black morels, and in
some places I have heard, black truffles. Oh yes and matsutake and
maitake. If you know the know-how the abundant but dangerous amanita
muscaria up near Roman Nose will bring back the Grateful Dead
experiences...
