Hi. I've gotten about 15 RSVPs for this webinar, so I'm going to schedule=
=3D

it. Can you all reply privately as to weekend vs weekday preference? Can'=
=3D
t
make everyone happy, but just need to know if I should do a Sat vs Wed.

Amanda on thu 21 apr 11

ok. Had a number of people email me asking if they could still RSVP and t=
=3D
he
answer is yes. You may RSVP until the moment of class, a webinar doesn't
have a limit.=3D20

Some other questions:=3D20

Is it live?=3D20
Yes. It will take place starting at 10am EST, Wednesday the 27th. We will=
=3D

break for an hour at noon EST and resume at 1pm EST and continue until 3p=
=3D
m
EST.=3D20=3D20=3D20

What's a webinar?=3D20
You will be invited to a website that will show you on your computers wha=
=3D
t
I'm seeing on mine. You'll also be given a phone number to dial into so y=
=3D
ou
may hear what I'm saying (an essential part). You'll be listening and
watching me live. You'll have the ability to ask questions by typing them=
=3D

in, and I'll respond every so often to the questions I see.=3D20

What is the cost?
I am asking everyone to pay 20$ to help cover the cost of the webinar sof=
=3D
tware.=3D20

Are there any other costs?=3D20
No. I will ask each attendee to sign up for a free, always free, never go=
=3D
ing
to be charged account at WordPress.com, for the purpose of the class. If,=
=3D

after the class, you decide you'd like to erect your own site, there are
costs inherent in that (buying a domain, hosting, possible costs for
plugins, themes, etc). WordPress itself remains free for eternity.=3D20

What if I'm confused?=3D20
I will gauge from the questions if there is a need to do an hour long
followup to answer common questions later in the week, or I will try to
respond to questions by pointing you where the answer may be.=3D20

What level of computer user is this for?=3D20
You will need to understand how to connect to the internet, sign up for
online accounts, access your email, how to use your mouse, and I generall=
=3D
y
say you should be able to use Microsoft Word. If you can use Office, you'=
=3D
ll
be able to use WordPress. WordPress isn't complicated and you don't need =
=3D
any
html knowledge at ALL, but you will need to have some basic computer
proficiency.=3D20

Do I need to do anything ahead of time?=3D20
For the purposes of the webinar, I ask everyone to sign up for a
WordPress.com account and to download Mozilla Firefox. There are a number=
=3D
of
reasons for this, but the main one is that it is available for Mac and PC=
=3D

and will allow us to all be seeing the same thing. If you choose not to d=
=3D
o
this, I don't have an issue, but please don't ask questions about it duri=
=3D
ng
the session.=3D20

What will I get out of this?=3D20
This is a 4 hour class, which is VERY fast. Things will move quickly. I w=
=3D
ill
teach you the absolute basics of WordPress... how to get started, how to
create posts and pages, how to manipulate a sidebar, how to handle the
settings.... all to the end of creating a site for your ceramics. We will=
=3D

not cover themes extensively nor plugins... this is purely so people may
attain a basic site for their ceramics. If there is cause after this I
would consider an intermediate class as a followup.=3D20

Who the hell are you?=3D20
Aside from being a WordPress developer for a number of years, I also run =
=3D
2
WordCamps as well as advise a number of them throughout the US. I have
spoken at 6 or 7 WordCamps in the last year, and am interviewed on the to=
=3D
pic
fairly routinely. I am a big believer in WordPress- and I teach free
WordPress classes all the time. You can view some of my videos at wordpre=
=3D
ss.tv.=3D20

How do I sign up?=3D20
