i have always gone to the asian market
and buy that huge bundle of inexpensive
incense. i burn it all the time. when guests
are coming, i lite one about an hour before arrival.
it is very soft and easy. nothing like turning
customers away from a stinking lousy studio.
(odor is our strongest/most powerful sense.
use that to your advantage as a seller of pots.)

During the recent heavy rains, & floods), we had 75mm,
(3" to you lot), of water come onto to the dry laid
brick workshop floor. A lot of leaf litter came with
it. After the water drained fungus grew, thumb sized
grey & white lumps, palm sized sulphur yellow liquid
blobs that looked like vomit. The workshop smelled like
a teen's sneakers!
We watered the entire area down with a pine/eucalyptus
disinfectant & had constant incense burning.
Eventual sweet (no)smell of success.

mel ,I never thought of you as an incense burning potter!
i do the same thing,=3D20
incense always takes me back in time, to when i was 14 or 15,=3D20
just like irises take me back to when i was 3 and stuck my nose in a big
purple Iris for the first time. almost physically transports me!
in the greenhouse studio, the center of the building became a gushing
fountain with the big rains, which we used to great advantage to squeegie=
all 10,000 SF of cement slab floor. but with repeated rains, we did get =
wee bit of that wet washrag smell, at least til the sun came out for a fe=
days. out came the incense.
now the only time i use it as a cover up in this rural area is when one o=
the locals burns some trash and forgets to take out the
plastic...fortunately the main offender has moved but occasionally theirs=
bit of it afloat, so out comes the incense....
and sometimes i just like to play my Donovan, Quicksilver , Ravi Shanka=
or Its a Beautiful Day tapes and out comes the incense...
other times I just listen to the ravens, doves, quail , sparrows,
thrashers, orioles and mockingbirds and smell the smell of the desert, mtn=
and river. mmmmmm!
life is good.
