Speaking of zinc glazes and localized reduction in electric kilns -
I bought a couple of Advancer silicon nitride shelves for my electric kiln.
They are great. Light weight, don't slump. Also very expensive. Later, I=
was
told by the sales rep at Bailey that the Advancers can cause localized redu=
ction
in an electric kiln, something that should go away after multiple firings. =
I
have had problems with pin-holing using Chun Clear, a zinc glaze. I might =
be
seeing the effects of the localized reduction from the Advancer shelves.
