CAS numbers are like serial numbers for chemicals. There is a small articl=

on them on Wikipedia, which includes links to various CAS search engines
whereby you can identify your mystery substances. The CAS number of your
frit identifies it as a lead bisilicate. The CAS number of your alumina
(AlO) identifies it precisely as such.
