When I encountered my first Alpine forced air updraft in a teaching post =
=3D
there was an operations manual for it that I used to initially learn to =3D
fire it. It has been over 12 years since I've fired one, but I seem to =3D
remember that it calls for a light blue flame to waft out of those =3D
bottom side ports for good reduction. If you don't get any more =3D
knowledgeable advice, let me know and I'll see if I've got something =3D
buried in my old teaching files. Also I just Googled Alpine Kilns and =3D
see that they are still in the business, you might contact them and get =3D
a manual for your kiln; all the Alpines I've had experience with had =3D
some sort of designation plate that gave the model and serial number =3D
that you might need to get the correct manual. -Rimas
