I have been using Blackbird with great success firing my bas relief plaqu=
=3D
es
to cone 10. I need to start firing to cone 5-6 in an electric kiln.

That wonderful body stain that I got with the Blackbird must be
re-producable in reduction.

Hoping someone else has had the same needs, any thoughts?
Thanks,

Conover

Hi Conover,

I can whip you up a couple to test if you can't find a good sub, I
need to know what ball clay and spar you can get or have.

Barnard has some manganese in it - can do with or without it.

Just Google "Barnard Substitute" and you will get:

New Mexico Clay has one.

or try using Burnt Umber as a wash.
