i have no idea at this time about a hotel for a clayart room.
nothing is happening.
i can't get a hotel to give us a bid.
i may just scrap the whole project. it is getting
far to risky, costly to put this much risk on my
credit card. times are tough, and hotels have pulled
their heads in really tight.
we had huge trouble in philly. huge. it is finally cleared up.
this is getting far beyond volunteer status.
this is not about `poor mel`, this is very serious stuff.
laguna is not going to do a hotel thing as planned...far
too expensive. so, that option is gone. florida on the water
is not cheap. no bargains

Dear Mel,
So sorry to hear that there will probably be no Clayart Hotel and no
Clayart Room. For me, that is three quarters of the reason to dig into our =
pockets
and make it to NCECA. The other quarter was to see the Orton Cone Box Show
since one of my entries got in. Ah well, there will be other years, I hope,
when I will get to see all the wonderful Clayart people.
I can quite see your point and why you feel the way you do.

If we don't have our own room to gather in, I'm sure we can find folks to
scout out hotel lobbies and the like that we can waltz in and occupy for
long periods.
The alternative is - "Ok, everyone meet in Mel's room!"

Clayart and the vendors has become the reason I go. Each year I feel =3D
like I get to know more Clayart members and have gained some clay =3D
friends.
