To any Clayarter who has been in L.A.

I find myself in the position to be in L.A. the first week of
February and I was wondering what to do with my time. If you have any
info. of ANY workshops,(kiln building , raku , galze , throwing , slab
work, potters shops I could visit during the day time) I would love to
hear any suggestions.
Thanks in
advance

If in the Santa Monica area, visit The Clayhouse, 2909 Santa Monica
Blvd, 310/828-7071. They offer studio space and also give classes.
Natalie Neith and Ken Catbagen know all that goes on in the area and
will be able to make suggestions. They are member of the American
Ceramic Society, Design Chapter, Southern California Section, a long
name for the local guild. There is Eduado Lazo at CLU who lives in
Thousand Oaks; Leon Bush (great crystal glazes) in Tarzana; Patrick
Crabb, a teacher at Rancho Sentiago College, in Tustin; the wonderful
Harrison McIntosh in Claremont; Phil Cornelius, professor at Pasadena
City College; Niel Moss in Los Angeles. These are just a few. LA is
huge and contains lots of potters. If you have a car and enough time,
travel up to Ojai and visit Otto Heino. You will learn a lot from that
man. Of course Beatrice Wood is in Ojai too. Still active, loves
chocolates and young men.
