aluminum pug mill/porcelain reaction

I recently purchased a pugmill/mixer for personal studio use. The housing
and barrel are aluminum. I had been told before the purchase by several
clayarters that the aluminum reacts with porcelain clay. The alternative
to the aluminum housing would have been stainless steel. Since I don't wor=
k
with porcelain I didn't consider purchasing a pugmill with the much more
expensive stainless steel housing. The tech at Bailey Pottery Equipment
told me that soda feldspar causes corrosion (pits) to the aluminum housing
and makes black specks in the clay but this is after considerable use/time.
This is not an animadversion to Bailey. They have been most helpful. From
my research I believe that aluminum housings are industry standard.

I am trying to develop my own clay bodies (stoneware and raku/sagger) and
need to know if there are any other clay materials that react with
aluminum.

Thank you for all your great advice.
