If you can open a kiln and remove the pot at 1800 degrees, you can peek.
It is dangerous, you can burn yourself, your work might subsequently crack,=
the glaze may not care for it, your cones should have been in front of the=
spyholes because that is what they are for, for god's sake just go have so=
me breakfast and come back later there is nothing you can do about it now a=
nyway what do you hope to accomplish by doing this.....
But you are in the deep end if you are firing your own kiln, so you can pee=
k.
As I would admonish my 6 year old when he asks to do things that are comple=
tely impulse control problems but otherwise harmless, just be sure and use =
the good sense god gave you when you do it.
