Joyce,
1234 is an old Bernard Leach glaze which he lists as a cone 8 limestone
glaze in his "Potter's Book." It's got a pretty wide range, though, and
crazes on most clays anyway.

Leach 1234
10 china clay
20 Limestone
30 Quartz
40 Feldspar

Leach is probably using whiting (Calcium carbonate) for his limestone,
but Dolomite is also known as limestone, too. Dolomite sources
considerable magnesia, so that's probably not what he used.
Oh, hey! Try doing a base layer of temmoku or kaki, then a wax resist
design, then the other glaze over the top. You can even pour hot wax like
a glaze!
