Hi Barbara,
My favorite museums in Paris:
Musee d'Orsay. .7th Arrondissement, used to be a train station. . .search
out Gaugain there, he has some pottery that I had not known about before.
Musee Rodin. . .a smaller gallery, with an outdoor sculpture garden of his
work, in the same area as d'Osay. Just breathtaking.
Musee Picasso. . .I really like this smallish gallery, it has paintings,
sculptures, pottery, and is in a terrific area for shopping, boutiques and
cafes. 5, Rue de Thorigny

The last time I was there, 2 years ago, I really could not find any
contemporary pottery. Perhaps I was asking the wrong questions!
It is the most majestic city, you are going to love it.
Have a wonderful trip.

Was there spring 2009, did lots of walking - BEST way to see the city!
Only handmade pottery was found at the weekly street art market at Blvd
Edgar Quinet in Montparnasse, 14th Arrondissement, on a Sunday, 10am - 5pm.
Found a raku artist and potter doing some crystalline glazes.

Found in the book "Paris: Made by Hand":

Le Petit Atelier De Paris - two ceramicists
31, rue de Montmorenoy, 3rd Arrondissement

Affinite Terre - Emmanulle Wittman
13, rue des Recollets
10th Arrondissement

Before making any trip to Paris, check the many holidays which can be
quite unexpected; strikes, which are also very annoying, and the
weather, although if you stay just north of Montmartre, you can get
whatever additional clothes you might need somewhat inexpensively. I
would stay there anyway for the wine shops, cheese shops, bakeries,
sausages, and coffee shops. The metro is easy to negociate, but
pick-pockets are everywhere, you will need to keep your money and I.D.
where no one can find it. And DON'T leave it in your room.

The Louvre.

The Catacombs.

St Chappelle

take lots of batteries for you camera

"To me, human life in all its forms, individual and aggregate, is a
perpetual wonder: the flora of the earth and sea is full of beauty and
of mystery which seeks science to understand; the fauna of land and
ocean is not less wonderful; the world which holds them both, and the
great universe that folds it in on everyside, are still more
wonderful, complex, and attractive to the contemplating mind." -
Theodore Parker, minister, transcendentalist, abolitionist (1810-1860)
