2nd Annual Clayarters' Gallery... Terms and Application Form

The 2nd Annual Clayarters' Gallery will be held at the Pottery By
Celia Gallery in Naples, Maine from June 25, 1998 through the Labor Day
Weekend. Applications will be accepted up until May 15, 1998. The
participants' pottery will be displayed in my gallery along with their
business cards. Additional cards and biography sheets can be sent. This
information will then be made available to customers upon request.
The pottery will be sold at the suggested retail price at a 45/55
(gallery/artist) split. I WILL reserve the right to adjust the suggested
retail price if I feel that the suggested price is not realistic,
participants will be notified in such cases. I will notify potters via
e-mail as their work sells giving them the option to send more items.
Participants will be responsible for shipping and return shipping costs for
pottery that does not sell by the end of the exhibit. I will not be
responsible for pottery that is lost, stolen, or broken during shipping.

I WILL ONLY ACCEPT "FIRST QUALITY" POTTERY THAT REFLECTS QUALITY
CRAFTSMANSHIP AND HAS ARTISTIC CHARACTER. Do not send mugs for this
exhibit.

Celia and I will do the jurying of the applicants' pottery. In order to
participate you must choose one of the below options:

Option 1: Jurying procedure.. An applicant can send an actual piece of
pottery, completed application form, and a $10 non-refundable application
fee, do not send cash. All applicants will be notified by June 1, 1998 via
e-mail stating if their work was or was not accepted into the exhibit.
Pottery items that are selected will become part of the exhibit. Pottery
items that are not selected will be packed up and return to the owner at
the owner's expense via UPS (UPS base shipping cost plus $1.50 for the
station pickup fee.) Those applicants which are selected will have the
option to send up to 5 more items of pottery of similar quality for the
exhibit. More pottery can be sent later if need be.

Option 2: Jurying procedure.. A applicant can send photos, prints, or
slides, of their pottery for jurying purposes along with a completed
application form, and a $10 non-refundable application fee, do not send
cash. Send a SASE if you want the photos returned. Applicants will be
notified by June 1, 1998 via e-mail if their work was accepted into the
exhibit. Those applicants which are selected can then send up to 6
pottery items of similar quality for the exhibit. More items can be sent
later if need be.

Option 3: Jurying procedure.. A potter can guide me to their web-site or
send me a picture file of their pottery, a completed application form, and
a $10 non-refundable application fee, do not send cash. Applicants will be
notified by June 1, 1998 via e-mail if their work was accepted into the
exhibit. Those applicants which are selected can then send up to 6
pottery items of similar quality for the exhibit. More items can be sent
later if need be.

*In all cases participants will be paid the proceeds from the sale of their
pottery on or around September 15, 1998. In order to expedite this I am
asking all participants to send a SASE for payment purposes. At the close
of the exhibit I will pack up any unsold pottery and inform those
participants of their return shipping costs. (UPS base shipping cost from
my location to yours plus $1.50 pick-up fee per box and a $2.50 handling
fee per box.) Upon receipt of the return shipping fees, I will promptly
ship the unsold pottery back to the participants via UPS.

In the interest of time I will NOT be able to follow up on U.S. Postal
Service damage claims, I therefore recommend that your pottery should be
