A friend here in Ouray, Colorado is ready to fire her 3 cu ft electric kiln
(a freebie to her) but needs to buy a venting system, because the kiln is
located in her basement with no windows or doors to the outside. There is
only a clothes dryer vent, to which she could attach a downdraft venting
system. She says that neither she nor her husband are particularly handy,
i.e. cannot make one, so she is looking to buy one.

If anyway has a lightly used system, please contact me to share your
information with her.

She is a complete newbie about firing.

TIA

Bonnie

Go to the Surplus Center .com and select electrical, then AC
blowers.
They have lots of small blowers for less than $20.
Mount the blower mouth out on an outside wall.
Run a piece of 3" dryer duct to a 3" elbow under the kiln.
Tab the elbow onto a piece of sheet metal placed between the
kiln base and the bottom of the kiln.
Drill a 3/8" hole through the kiln bottom into the mouth of
the elbow and you have a very fine kiln vent for under $30.
