I think Trinity Clay in Dallas may be the closest supplier I can think =3D
of in North Texas.=3D20
Look at some CM Magazines or google clay supplies. They are all over the =
=3D
country.=3D20
Pottery Making Illustrated lists supplies in their special issue they =3D
give out at NCECA.=3D20
You will probably need them shipped.

Are you looking for an analog or digital pyrometer?
How high will you be firing?
How accurate do you need the readings to be?

Do not expect to use the pyrometer to read your final temperature - you wil=
=3D
l
use witness cones for that.
If you want to read the speed of heating or cooling, the pyrometer is good
for that.

An 8 gauge type "K" with ceramic sheath will probably suit your purpose and
can be used with analog or digital pyrometer. Above 2000F the type "K"
thermocouple is not real accurate, but the type "S" that is accurate is als=
=3D
o
way more expensive.

The cheapest slip can be made from your porcelain clay. Allow trimmings to
dry out, add to water, mix and you have instant slip!
