Hello ClayArt,

This weekend I plan to make my first attempt at mixing a glaze from dry
powder. I've got 10 lbs. of Pam's Blue dry powder from Coyote. I've looke=
d
at about 50 web pages and a couple books with instructions for mixing dry
glazes but does anyone have any experience with mixing Coyote glazes or
Pam's Blue in particular? Should I add some bentonite? Do you have
favorite hydrometer settings for dipping or pouring? The package says add
one gallon and one pint of water. Will I have to add much more water to ge=
t
it to the right "thin-ness" for pouring or dipping? I might email Coyote
and see what they recommend but it would be great to hear from anyone that
has experience with Pam's Blue.

Thanks for any help,

Brandon, whether or not the glaze will be improved by the addition
of Bentonite depends on how you intend to apply it, dip, brush, spray
etc and the composition of the glaze which you do not know. I have
found that a telephone call to Coyote has always been met with
friendly and helpful replies, particularly helpful if you can talk to
Martin (the boss) who really knows his stuff.
