The gas pressure should be measured in inches water column not PSI. The co=
=3D
rrect pressure should be 11 inches water column for propane and 7 inches wa=
=3D
ter column for natural gas. The correct pressure is essential to fire a to=
=3D
rchbearer.

Elaine,
Check my web site for a page on firing these small updraft kilns.
Though I no longer have this kiln, I do remember the baso valve was a low
pressure one with a limit of 1/2 PSI. Though I fired with propane, I
installed a reducing valve in the line so I wouldn't get too much pressure
from the tank. Do you have a reducing valve in the main gas line?
Are you sure your gauge is PSI and not WCI?
I didn't have a gauge on my kiln, but simply turned the main valve no more
than about 1/4 turn and when I got towards end of firing closed it even
more.
I fired by sound of the burners and site at the flue.

If you want to adjust water column (11 inches) recommended for=3D20
propane, you can turn the set screw in the regulator. I personally=3D20
wouldn't do it, I would call a gas person...

Hope it helps,
