`mel, i have heat building under my electric kiln, what should
i do`.?
place a small oscillating fan near your kiln, the air blowing under it.
heat gone...gee that was hard.
fans are wonderful in kiln rooms...use as many as you want.
it is the best fire prevention that you have.

i added three fans into my computer..just epoxied them in
place. used a series hook up.
cool as can be.

here is a great story.
`show your papers`. been think about this lately.

we were coming into dubai, and they could not
find our entry visa. we were placed in a room with
a guard, he had a very loaded rifle. he did not chat or smile.
they searched and searched...the vice president of
the oil company was just outside the fence. trying to help
get us in.

they finally found them, just as they were putting
sharlene and me on a plane to india. they don't screw around,
even when `they lose` your papers.

`so sorry`..you can enter the country now.
if you travel a great deal, you get used to showing
your papers. it is a part of the world. try entering
japan. you had better have your papers. and, i carried
my alien registration papers all the time..every day, every
where i went. they don't screw around either. ask lee,
if your visa runs out, you go home. no discussion.

it is never racist, political, it is the law of the land you
are in. most countries enforce it. and no, i am not going
to start a politcal thread on what we do here in america.
just giving a small story about what happens when you travel.
and, if you have never been out of your county, you have
no idea what the world is like...even if you read national geographic.

sharlene had a naked strip search in bangkok (airport). she was not a
happy girl. why the chose her, we do not know, just that the guy
with a rifle said she was going to have it done. at least the gal doing
it was older and polite. and, while in shri lanka, we noted that a
big guy sat in a chair/leaning against our hotel room door all night/with a
12 bore shot gun. he guarded us. think of that. makes sleeping a bit
nervous...but, sharlene never noticed, she was worried about the
lizards on the ceiling...she knew they would fall on her, but, they
never did. they have grippy feet.
