books on law/contracts/pricing

Just received The Crafts Report Book Club order form, and thought I'd ask
for opinions on a few books they offer.

The Law in Plain English for Craftspeople
Business Forms and Contracts in Plain English for Craftspeople
both by Leonard DuBoff

The Basic Guide to Pricing your Craftwork by James Dillehay

Should I spend the approx $13-15 each? Are they worth it? Or should I just
duffer along and learn as I go?

Appreciate any experience you've had in these areas.

Beware of a book on law that is not written in your state. The law is different
in every state. A book that tries to cover them all would be too general. If
you relied on it, you could make the wrong decision.

The Uniform Commercial Code applies to all states except Louisianna,
where the Napoleonic Code is still applied. UCC applies to dealings
between merchants- not 'the public'. It includes a great deal of
contract law.

This I've learned after spending 15 years as an industrial buyer. I
hope to spend the next 50 as a potter, and not have to deal with
contracts and such again.
