## 2010 nceca mug exchange

### Rebecca Knight on sun 14 feb 10

The 13th Annual Clayart Mug Exchange is tentatively scheduled for Thursday,
April 1, in the Clayart Room after the Randall Session. Here are the
basics:

The Exchange is open to all members of the Clayart Internet Discussion Grou=
=3D
p
attending NCECA.

1. Pick a mug, or another ceramic object you=3D92ve made, for the exchange=
. =3D
Only
one item please. Since all the pieces will be put in bags for the exchange=
=3D
,
your piece must fit in a paper bag measuring approximately 5=3D94 x 4=3D94 =
x 9=3D
=3D94.

=3D
d
contact information inside the mug. It would be wonderful if you would
include technical information on the card about the mug, such as
construction method, firing temperature, and glazes used.

3. Bring your mug to the Clayart room any time on Wednesday or Thursday an=
=3D
d
place it on the designated table. The sooner the better, as we all love
looking at the mug exhibit during the conference.

Since there is a very well organized stay-at-home exchange, the one at NCEC=
=3D
A
is limited to Clayart members attending NCECA, who are able to meet at the
designated time for the exchange. We find it=3D92s much more fun when you =

Rebecca -
Thanks for helping to organize this, but we heard from mel today that the
Randall Session has been cancelled, and that the big party at Steve Tobin's
house (all of Clayart is invited) is taking place that evening. So it seem=
s
that either the mug-exchange needs to be rescheduled for a different
evening, or else a great many of us who have always participated will not b=
e
doing so this year.
Thanks -
- Vince

Seems a lot of people only attend on Thursday - Friday so they only have to
pay for one night in the hotel. I vote for Friday evening.

Would probably miss a number of folks.
I will be leaving mid day Friday as I have an all-day Saturday class to
teach.

We'll probably lose a bunch to openings. Most exhibitors open that evening.

Maybe late on Friday.

or else=3D20

why not just have it at Steve Tobin's party?

I haven't been to NCECA for years so I don't know the protocol for
this, but I would love to have the display out for a day or two, so
everyone can see the mugs before the exchange.
