Yo Randy and Pam -

How nice you'll be warm!!

FIRST on your list must be the Ceramic Research Center @ ASU in Tempe -- an=
d
the Univ. Art Museum of which it is a part. The CRC is a very good facilit=
y
w/ LOTS of pots on display in glass fronted "open storage" cases. The copy
is good tho the some cases are not well lit - but it's waaay better than
storing stuff out of sight. They also have gallery space for exhibitions.
"There's Nothing like it Back Home" nor anywhere else I know of short of
the Smithsonian. If you don't have a car, this is worth renting one to see
IMHO. There's even limited parking right in front.

While on campus, perhaps a stroll thru the ASU ceramic studios - something =
I
often do when visiting a new location. See what the younger generation is u=
p
to.

The Museum itself is an architecturally great response to the AZ heat. I
greatly enjoyed its shows last time I visited. Nice shop, too.

I second Paul's picks. Mesa Art Center - you won't believe your eyes at
the space of the ceramic facility. Meet its director if possible - name
escapes me. And get the story of how this whole facility was financed.
Sweet. Consider writing cer. director in advance for info of any ceramic
activities anywhere while you're there. Some good casual restaurants
nearby.

There MAY be a gallery showing ceramics, probably in Scottsdale but I don't
know a name.

Have a great time!
