In NYC the Institute for the Study of the Ancient World (ISAW) @ NYU
currently has a wonderful exhibition - The Lost World of Old Europe. It
includes a great array of pots and other ceramics dating back to 5000 BC.
IMHO very well worth seeing the whole show. ISAW is on E. 84th St. just E
of 5th Ave. and the Metropolitan. Very nice calm quiet exhibition space
with the art beautifully displayed, good copy. A hidden gem worth
remembering. Be sure to get the small brochure w/ copy keyed to each pot.

Google it and go to the appended links for a quick view of the show itself
and the pots.

It's FREE and has a free guided tour @ 6PM on Friday, again worth doing.
