i did a great deal of research in this area
a couple of years ago.
i came up with the canon sureshot, and i am a nikon
guy. i am very pleased.
$150 bucks.

my big camera is a nikon d series.
a great camera. but, in that 1000 dollar range.

but, my canon sureshot is in my pocket all the time,
and takes great pix, and, it is rugged. and, rugged is the
bottom line for me.
many of the small digies are very fragile. like tiny eggs.
the canon is metal.
