we have a computerized kiln at the Tucson Clay Co-op -but because of the ho=
liday rush we
need to run glaze kilns in our manual electric skutt. I know there is a wa=
y to
keep kiln running once cone goes down - you have to be with kiln
when automatic shut off bar falls and I think you have to turn dials to
medium - what I don't remember is how to get latch back up and
kiln to keep running
if anyone out there knows, please respond quickly - because we need to fire=
tomorrow
many many thanks, Maxine

You gently lift the weighted lever up a little and push the button. The =3D
lever can rest on the button but it won't have momentum to shut off the =3D
button. BUT it has to be watched because the shutoff is not set at this =3D
point.=3D20

PS
not sure how the dials work on your kiln. On one of my very old =3D
crusaders, I soaked with the settings on 6 ...next down from Hi. Get a =3D
pyrometer and monitor your soak.=3D20

Hi Maxine!

Lift the latch. Press in the button. SLOWLY bring the latch back down;
do not jar it or let it drop. (If the gate drops, it will shut off the
kiln.) After the soak, pick up the latch and let it drop back down to
shut the kiln off.
