Hello Jennifer,

I do not know of a book that is written that includes all the methods of
pit firing in it but there is a section in the book, "Raku" by Steven
Branfman.

There was a small paper back book put out a number of years ago by a woman
named Miriam Light on Burnishing and Pit fire.

The book about Maria Martinez is also another book to look at.

The Traditional Pottery of Guatemala by Reina and Hill (undoubtedly out of
print)

Hope this helps,
