Got a note from a potter friend yesterday that is in the fight of her
life. The note said " Don't beg, don't fetch, be your own dog!" Fight,
big fighter, fight!!! Well if someone asks you to do demo at the
Church bazarre, the Old Age Home etc, etc ask the person are they my
shoes???? I've told this story before on Clayart about the young woman
asking my local shoe store guy for a donation and he said ' Are they
my shoes you're wearing???' I have a couple of local wineries that
send lots customers here and the owners spend thousands of dollars
here every year. If they asked me to set up in their wineries and
throw pots and chit chat with customers I'd be there in a heart beat.
No questions asked. They wear my shoes.
There are a gazillion worthwhile charities and causes I could do demos
for. I do them without question for the ones that wear my shoes.
