just a ffew thoughts...on etsy, s-cracks and creativity

Regarding Etsy;=3D0D

I sell on etsy, but I mostly do custom orders, where people will see
something they like and then convo me to see if IC can make it in another
color..=3D0D
I also have a couple galleries I sell in, but right now the economy is st=
=3D
ill
stagnant, and until people get the Christmas bug, I think it will stay th=
=3D

way.....I still make things every day, send out flyers, talk about my pot=
=3D

to anyone who will listen, and do craft shows but only in the 3 months
before Christmas..one is today, so hopefully it will go well..=3D0D

S-Cracks=3D3D=3D3D=3D3Dany white clay is very tempermental and will most li=
kely=3D
be the
clay that does the s-crack thing...I love buncombe white, but my loss rat=
=3D
e
to s-cracks is about 35%, so I am wedging it with 259 or any other color
clay that has some strength to it, and now no s-cracks...plus a little bi=
=3D
t
of marbling in it too...I never use porcelain, I know I will get breakage
with it not matter what I do, so not even going there.=3D0D

Made my first 2 lamps, will post pics later today once I get a good pictu=
=3D

the bottoms need work, have to find something that will cover the bottom
(since it has to be open to get your hands in there) that looks nicer tha=
=3D

what I came up with , but heck for my first 2 they are great if I say so

Have 3 more cooling in bisque fire, so will need to figure out bottom
detailing in a day or two....issue is diameter of bottom is 5 inches usua=

I like the jug and ginger jar type lamps mostly so those bottoms are bigg=

And lastly, North Carolina with all of its pottery sucks for workshops fo=

potters who are still in there under 5 year mark....they are mostly for
sculpural, which does not sell in my area at all, and for handbuilding,
which I just can't get into..I want glaze ideas, (not mixing my own tho,
except for the ones that are premixed..) I want design ideas, I want new
piece ideas, I want how to make your pot belly out like a pot belly pig, =
=3D
and
no I do not want You tube, tho I do watch in the middle of the nite)..I w=
=3D

something close to Charlotte or to the Myrtle Beach area, *anything that
will give me an opportunity to go to the beach works for me!)....=3D0D
