hotel rooms philly/nceca

updated thu 1 oct 09

it looks like our first 150 rooms have been booked.
she is going to add another block...so we are doing well.

the best of the `strictly functional` show will be
in the clayart room. ( jean lehman has that in place.)
i am working with` santa fe clay`
to join us with their great show. (in the works, looking for a room
big enough in the hotel.)

the party at steve tobin's place is going to be a
riot....(he blows up stuff.) he is a fine artist and has
been left off the nceca show list...maybe one of the
best artists in that area. (what else would you expect?)
remember, clayarters will be `guests`...all of you. (up to 300)
that will include dinner and some drinks...and we think
a bus ride.

Steve Tobin wishes this to be the `end all` nceca type party.
he wants people talking about it for years to come. his art
sells in the six figures, and he wants to share his success with
fellow clay people. he wants this to be a fine gift....and we are
going to be gracious guests.

Steve owns a tennis center near his home, the party and
food will spill to that venue. he is a business man. we can
all learn a thing or two. he buys more clay from laguna than
any other single person in america. thousands of pounds.

this is going to be one wonderful experience in philly...come
and join us.
clayart rocks.

So Mel,
What's the scoop on going to this Steve Tobin party? Do we get to blow thin=
=3D
gs up? I just watched the film clip on the web site. I am wondering what my=
=3D
principal would say if I turned in a purchase order for a bunch of M-80's,=
=3D
cherry bombs, and gunpowder? My students get all excited over raku firing.=
=3D
Even more enthusiasm in busting up old ugly leftover pottery. They would f=
=3D
lip out if the got to blow up their clay.=3D20
