advice on buying shelves

Hi All!

I need new kiln shelves in a big way, and I want y'all's advice (how's
that for showing my Texas?).

We've used Silicon Carbide shelves in our Alpine. But, they're getting
very old and very warped. But I would really like to buy enough shelves
to replace all of them, and that means silicon carbide is not a viable
solution financially.

I've been hearing people talk about "marls" lately, and wondered if any
of you have a positive or negative opinion of them. We will need about
30 shelves to properly cover all the configurations of stacking we
normally have, and we use the 11x28x1/2" size.

Any ideas on decent shelves that aren't as expensive as silicon carbide?

Thanks!

Erin.

We use their Nitride Bonded SiC shelves and coat them on one side only with
the Lee's kiln wash from Axner's and we have had great success.
