red tailed hawks ot

I have had this in the upper corner of my screen for the last hour.
I almost feel liKe I am watching a would be suicide jumper. the way
it paces on the edge and then just stands there watching the
traffic. And when it steps back and stretches and flexes its wings,
I want to yell at it. don't hesitate, you can do it, you can FLY!
There is a water tower near my house and it is the home to a few red
tailed hawks, an immense murder of crows, and a few other assorted
birds of prey. They are beautiful in flight. they float on the
thermals with so few wing strokes as they circle.

Millie in Md. where the temp and the humidity are vying for top
honors.

Two red-tailed hawks have built a nest on a window ledge at The
Franklin Institute in Philadelphia. They've added three nestlings to
their family. A webcam is watching the nest, feeding a live view,
waiting to see what may happen next.
This is pretty cool for a city slicker to see.
I understand that two of the chicks fledged or flew for the first
time yesterday.
The TV feed is very good

Millie,
It's funny you mention that.
One of the chicks decided it was his time and took off. It was not his time=
.
He got caught in a fence and had to be rescued and taken to the bird
sanctuary till he gets it together. Lot of buzz and pictures in the Inky.

more dangerous than to copy others. It leads to sterility! Picasso
