Ya Donn and Crew,

That guy is good, I first saw him when Simon visited the States last year.=
I've seen others grab a lot of clay for a pull too so I gave it a try and =
now my lumps are getting taller to start, although I'm not doing 6-12lb. po=
ts yet. And I've started giving up my purest attitude by trying to learn to=
use the throwing ribs but it is hard to break the habit of just using my h=
ands, slurry, a trim stick, and a string.

For those interested Simon is back in the U.S. staying in Berryville, N.Y.=

So far I haven't heard him mention much about his grandfather and he seems=
to be more interested in getting on with making more pots. I wish I could =
make lots more but I'm finding I just don't have as much manic energy anymo=
re. In my last performance review at Wal*Mart one defect I had is a lack of=
a sense of urgency. Oh, I feel it allright, I just don't have the energy l=
ike when I was younger. Like I say, I'm past 60 so I don't do "real quick" =
anymore.

I gotta realize though I do have some shelves of pots made and even if the=
repeat thrown pieces don't all look the same they are there where as 8 yea=
rs ago they were only a forgotten dream in the bottom of a can of cheap bee=
r.

Stay in there, "Keep Practicing", and don't let it fool ya eh!
