Many years ago I made up some Egyptian paste and did some inlay on
Soldners Raku body. It worked. In fact I had a few thick slabs that
had a couple of hairline cracks in them. I heated up the entire piece
and removed it from the kiln. I used an Oxy-acetylene torch and
actually welded the clay. No welding rod, just hat and melted the clay.
The body had lots of talc in it as a flux and too help with thermal
shock. It worked well . After the torching was done I pppsmoked the
piece in sadust etc. I just went a different direction than continuing
with Raku. =3D20
