There will be a variety of functional work including mugs, bowls, pitchers,
casseroles, lidded jars, bottle vases as well as one-of-a-kind vessels in
high-fired stoneware and porcelain.
Cushing's pottery is seen in galleries, museums and in private collections
all over the USA and abroad. A world class figure in ceramics, and an Alfre=
d
resident since 1957, Cushing taught in the School of Art and Design, NY
State College of Ceramics at Alfred University for 40 years, retiring in
1997. He continues to work in his studio in Alfred and to give occasional
lectures, demonstrations and workshops. In November of 2008, he was one of
the featured presentors in the NCECA symposium held in Jingdezhen, China.
