I'm interested in placing a number of saggars into a 24-cubic foot kiln, an=
d want to take the temp up to 1600 degrees. Does anyone have suggestions re=
: timing to rise the temperature? How many degrees per minute?

Hey Teri,

I fire saggars to between 1600 and 1700 in my Olympic updraft raku kiln. =
I start with a gentle low burner to 500 and then turn up the burners =
slightly every 7 minutes after that until I reach 1600. I then hold =
between 1600 and 1700 for 20 minutes at which point I shut everything =
down and allow it all to cool until I can touch the kiln with my =
unprotected hand...usually the next day. Hope this helps.
