This does not involve mica because it=A0 was in reduction firing-^9 or ^10.=
The clay is BMIX-10. The piece is a rectangular plaque to hang--my=A0 hand=
made flowers. I brushed on iron oxide, let it dry and powdered it off with =
my finger tips -only on the flowers, stems and leaves. Also a light rub on =
the kind of decorative edge. After firing, the places where I had rubbed be=
came a pewter-like metallic and the background was a burgundy/brown.=20

Now, I want to try some more pieces to see if I can get the same results.=

Personal note--OK Mel??--It is so wonderful to get my hands back in clay an=
d start to communicate with all you wonderful mudbuddies. Made it thru the =
grieving and heart problems--cardiac rehab. Now, I will start to think NCEC=
A and getting to see old friends and make new ones. ;-)

Most sincerely--You will never know how I have missed all this.
