Dear Serge;

In my experience, 6" is the minimum I would consider for a kiln =20
firing to cone 10. In addition, I would consider using castable =20
refractory around the firemouths, because of the high velocity of =20
your intended burners.

I offer you a free "diesel (liquid oid) burnner" at: www.R2D2u.com. Long
proven successful for glass melting furnaces for decades.

Your fiber thickness is excessive. Cut thickness in half and save a bundle
in expences.

Hi clayarters,

We will build a 2 cubic meter diesel kiln to fire at C10.

We think to do walls (and roof) with a 10 cm (4") layer of fiber; is it
enough?

Also, what size (power) of diesel burner do we need (how many Kw)?

Thanks to help us with this; but also thanks for all the other help we can
find on the list. Folks from this list are really friendly and...make nice
pots!
