Hi guys. I am curious. What are the biggest challenges that you experience when firing porcelain? Does it come easy for you or are there particular challenges that you experience?

When I was doing pit fired work with porcelain, I had to pay special attention to wide rimmed bowls, because of uneven firing. Currently, I have to be cautious about the angle at which I create walls, because at ^10 the clay easily slump and even break. I also have to be very cautious of how I glaze and use the firing cycle.

I am interested in all firing techniques:electric, raku, pit fire, wood firing, gas firing and soda firing challenges. I would love to hear any challenges; all cone firings in any firing situation.

Please also tell me how you overcome those problems.

If you're working with semi porcelain, you might have some interesting facts to add.

Thanks as always.
